This video shows my Jailbroken iPad displaying all of its contents on a large television. If you don't jailbreak the iPad then the video out cables can only be used within certain applications (Netflix, ABC, Photos, Keynote) and then you can only display the actual output - not the interface. With the application called "Display Out" for jailbroken iPad's you'll be able to display your springboard pages, games, photo apps, weather apps, well actually - Any app. To Jailbreak the iPad just following these instructions: 1. Download "SPIRIT" Jailbreak application 2. Connect iPad to iTunes 9.x and backup your iPad (Smart Step, don't be lazy here) 3. Backup your SHSH Blobs / Files (www.youtube.com 4. Put your iPad into Recovery / Restore Mode. Do this with iPad connected to USB and iTunes NOT open. Hold down Power and HOME buttons together until iPad goes into recovery or restore mode then release. 5. Run the SPIRIT jailbreak app you downloaded 7 That's it - your iPad is jailbroken Now, scroll to the last screen and click on the Cydia app that was installed. Open this up and use the search tool and search for "Display Out" Go through the purchase and install process (it costs .99). After restarting the iPad go to PREFERENCES and you'll notice DISPLAY OUT is now listed on left column of screen. ** You will of course need an output adapter for the iPad that you can purchase from Apple. They have a composite video adapter and a VGA out adapter. Enjoy
