To be entirely honest, on Tuesday I didn't think there would be a 'Bad Drivers in Portland' video this week. Or it was going to be short (like 4 minutes), which I don't like doing because I'm known for my longer videos. Plus that makes more work for me as I'd have to write a clever description for each one. But, obviously, everything I've just said is complete and utter bullshit, as one of my friends called me Wednesday night and told me that she would be having a party on Thursday for one of our good friends that is moving to Clearwater, Florida. I, of course, accepted the party invitation and set out early Thursday morning in search of intelligent and somewhat-amusing-yet-still-sentimental gifts for this joyful person who is sadly leaving our PacNw paradise. Also, sadly, nothing exciting happens in Beaverton, so I departed into downtown Portland to gather some awesome things. First stop: Powell's City of Books - a gigantic multi-story book store that takes up an entire city block (though I admit Portland's blocks are kind of small). You'll get to see their freakin' awesome parking garage in the next strange happenings video. I bought a book titled "Alligators and Panthers - Deadly Encounters With Human Beings in Florida". I thought it appropriate seeing as how my friend is moving there and is vegan. Second stop (with a 10 minute train wait in the middle of the drive): Voodoo Donuts.
